What it's about

What you won'tlearnabout on a campus tour.

College is About _____ fills in the blank that admissions packets and orientation seminars leave empty. Each episode, we have a conversation breaking down a different aspect of college life. Whether it's housing, money, friendships or something in between, we discuss each topic in an authentic way — the way an actual dad and daughter talk.

We aren't talking to you, but rather with you and each other. The stories we share — regardless of whether they're good or bad or land in a gray area — are real and relatable.

This podcast is made for both the college student and the college parent. Our intent is to bridge the gap between the two and help foster better conversations and, therefore, better relationships amid the chaos.

We've started the conversation so it can continue with you.

Between classes, extracurriculars, and events, burnout is more likely to happen than you think. Try to find some work/life balance; it's a process, but it's worth it.

Time

Meet the hosts

Rob & Morgan.

Rob (the dad) has worked in higher ed for two decades and is still figuring it all out.

Morgan (the daughter) has lived through college in the modern day.

Together, they're learning from each other by sharing their perspectives on what undergrad is like on both sides.

Got a question? Suggest a topic!

We're building Season 2 right now and want to hear from YOU. What do you wish someone had told you about college? Ask us anything — we might cover it in a future episode.

For parents

Don't know what to ask? We've figured it out.

Check out our starter pack of prompts that you can use with your kid and not annoy them (hopefully). Listen to an episode, send them the podcast, and follow up with a question.

A friendly reminder: We're not doctors, lawyers, therapists, financial advisors, or experts of any kind. We're just a dad and his daughter who enjoy having healthy conversations about life and hope they might help others start their own. Nothing on this podcast or website should be taken as professional advice — medical, legal, psychological, or otherwise. Our opinions, stories, and banter are exactly that: opinions, stories, and banter. If you or your family need professional guidance, please seek out a qualified expert. We're just here to get the conversation going.
